The first El Paraiso Triathlon was held in October 2000 to raise money for the multi-sensorial room at APRONA.It was such a popular and beneficial day that it has now become an annual event, each year raising more and more money for children with special needs. It is held on the first Sunday of October, and is a fantastic day out for all the family.
Triathlon 2006
12 people (from all over Europe) volunteered to participate in this fun race, to raise as much money as possible through sponsorship. It has become so popular that in 2004 we also introduced a team event.Three people per team each take on a leg of the race. The race itself consists of an 8 km run, a 16 km cycle, (throughout the hilly area of El Paraiso and Bel Air) finishing with a 700-metre swim at El Paraiso Country Club.
After the race everybody is invited for lunch and drinks.During the day there is a variety of entertainment, including magic and flamenco shows.
There is lots of fun and games for the children including lucky dip, bouncy castle and face painting. There is also a raffle and auction.Everything on this day is donated or provided by the El Paraiso Country Club, it’s suppliers, customers, local business´, friends and family.Everybody joins in to make this day as much fun as possible, and all the money raised goes to La Fundación Elliot George.
