APRONA There are 60 babies and toddlers who attend the pre-school department, where physiotherapy, speech, language and motor skills development are undertaken. APRONA also has school facilities for children aged 5 to 16 years. 24 children attend lessons; do gymnastics, physiotherapy, speech and language, social awareness and much more. This immensely improves the quality of their lives. There is also an occupational therapy workshop where teenagers and adults spend their days creating ceramics, bags, murals and paper flowers for the ferias.

The staff and volunteers at APRONA are selfless, and dedicate their time in helping these children and their families make the most of what life can now offer them. The brain damage and development differs tremendously but all the children get the same care and attention. When Elliot spent a month in hospital at 9 months old, somebody from APRONA phoned almost everyday, visited and even offered to spend the night with Elliot to give his parents a chance to sleep.
